RunBuddy runners

Always dreamt of running a marathon but never knew where to start? Fancy a jog around the neighbourhood as the sun sets and the temperature cools but felt embarrassed about your running form? Want to experience the fantastic ‘runner’s high’ that seems to drive every person in better shape than you to stay in better shape than you?

Well, all-in-one running coaching app Runna is here to help everyone achieve their running goals, no matter how big or small. And if you don’t believe us, believe the 323 backers who pledged £487,949 to help Runna raise over £500k to change the game.

Runna’s crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube raised £487,949 from 323 investors, with other private investors taking the total to over £500,000. The money will be put towards the development of the app, with plans in motion to increase the development team, organise more running events in the UK and pursue partnerships with more world-renowned athletes like Joshua Patterson (ex-Made in Chelsea star, ultra-athlete and world record holder) and Stephanie Davies (GB Olympics athlete).

What’s Runna?

Runna is the running app for everyone – literally. It’s designed for those just looking to start jogging every day, those looking to improve their 5k times and even those looking to train for their first multi-day marathon. There’s no runner too experienced or too novice, nor no goal too big or too small. That’s exactly what we like to hear – because running IS for everybody and you don’t have to be a pro to enjoy running.

With coaching plans that start from just £5 per week, the app is able to sync with Garmin watch (with other devices set to be paired in the future) and is super practical, being available to download for free via the Apple Store and Google Play.

Who’s behind RunBuddy?

Ben Parker and Dom Maskell wanted to share their love of running with as many people as possible. Thus, Runna was created as a personalised running app that offers one-on-one coaching. The training plans are fully optimised to each user, and designed to be easy and fun for all.

Since launching, Joshua Patterson and Stephanie Davies have both invested in Runna, in more ways that one – Joshua has joined as Director and Stephanie as part of the coaching team.

What are people saying?

Dom Maskell, Co-Founder of www.runna.com, commented of the crowdfunding success:

“This is a remarkable achievement and we are so grateful to everyone who believes in Runna. We want to change the way people train and to see 323 people also share our vision, our passion and our love for running is an incredible feeling.

“We’ve been growing 20 per cent on a month-by-month basis and the success of the first crowdfunding campaign means 2022 will be an even brighter year for us. We want to say an overwhelming thank you to everyone who contributed and we can’t wait to continue growing the Runna community.”

We’re all for an app that encourages people to put their trainers on get outdoors; walking, jogging, sprinting, whatever takes their fancy. We can’t wait to see how the guys at Runna use their investment to improve the app.
