Gymshark Vital Seamless T-Shirt – Jogger.co.uk Review

Why choose a Gymshark training top?

I’m following so many fitness models and influencers on Instagram right now and they’re all raving about Gymshark (and they look amazing in it!). I don’t yet have the body of my dreams, but I’m working hard on it and I want to look the part.

I usually wear baggy tops in the gym, but I find that they move a lot, they can be a nuisance when you’re doing a HIIT workout which involves jumping jacks, running or something similar, and they’re just generally not that ideal. So, I bit the bullet and decided I was going to get a figure-hugging t-shirt and found the perfect one on Gymshark.

I had a look through lots of tops on the site, but in the first instance it was the Vital Seamless T-Shirt that caught my eye. I already have some of the Seamless Energy High Waisted leggings and knew I loved the material, the t-shirt is made with DRY technology and stretch fit fabric and the physique contouring shading looked incredibly flattering. The hardest bit was deciding on what colour to get.

Sam’s review of the Gymshark Vital Seamless T-Shirt

After a few days it came, I’ve worn it to the gym already and here’s my thoughts…

Does Gymshark have a wide range to choose from?

The t-shirt comes in four sizes (XS, S, M and L) and six colours (Black Marl, Peach Pink Marl, Beet Marl, Deep Teal, Pale Turquoise Marl and Peach Coral). I’ve got this t-shirt in Deep Teal but I’m definitely going to buy a few of the other colours. First on my list: Peach Coral.

Is Gymshark clothing tight or loose? How is the initial fit?

Gymshark clothing has a tendency to look smaller than it is, so when you initially open the package there is the immediate panic that you’ve bought the wrong size and are going to struggle to get it on. But that’s not the case. The t-shirt was easy to get on and held me in all the right places. I found the contouring shading really highlighted my small waist, which is a nice draw away from my hips, and whilst the sleeves hugged my arms they weren’t tight or restrictive in any way.

It is seamless, so you will see the outline of your sports bra through this t-shirt, but we gals get that with most tops that we wear. You only really need to consider your undergarments when it’s the seamless leggings you’re wearing.

How is Gymshark sizing in real life?

I follow so many fitness models and influencers on Instagram who live in and promote Gymshark and so often I see them advising to go up a size with the garments that you choose to buy. I risked it and decided to buy my actual size and found that it fits perfect and should continue to fit perfect as I shift a little weight and tone up.

I’m 5’4”, a size 10-12 and I wear a size M top.

How does Gymshark clothing fit during the workout?

If, like me, you’re all hips and no waist, the t-shirt will rise up a little – but I get that with everything that isn’t baggy and that’s no issue to me whatsoever. For those of you who are a little self-conscious or don’t want to get your midriff out in the gym, wear a pair of high-waisted gym leggings and you’ll be fully covered. I, personally, highly recommend the Gymshark Seamless Energy High Waisted Leggings. Mala did a review on the Seamless Energy High Waisted Cropped Leggings recently – I’ve got the regular leggings, not the cropped ones, and find they’re perfect for any type of workout I’m doing (from weight training to HIIT classes), they’re super comfy and incredibly flattering! I’ve included some links below so you can compare the two:

* Seamless Energy High Waisted Leggings – £42.00

* Seamless Energy High Waisted Cropped Leggings – £40.00

These both come in four different sizes (XS, S, M and L) and come in five different colours (Beet, Black, Khaki, Purple Wash and Pastel Lilac).

Did a back and shoulders session tonight ?? here’s a snippet. My form isn’t perfect, I’m focusing far too much on my breathing (future hubby told me last night that my breathing was wrong in the leg press video from yesterday) and my weights are tiny, but do you know what – we all have to start somewhere and so far I’m really enjoying it and can’t wait for my next session. Hopefully my legs will have calmed down by then and walking won’t be an issue, never mind squatting ??⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ * ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ * ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #engaged #teambride #bridetobe #gettingmarried #sweatingforthewedding #fitfam #fitspiration #fitspo #fitstagram #fitness #health #workingout #workout #gymlife #gymbunny #training #healthyliving #healthylife #motivation #fitjourney #gymrat #girlswholift #slimmingworld #sw #puregym #backworkout #shouldersworkout #aching #doms

How does the Gymshark clothing material feel?

The fabric is incredibly soft to touch and you can tell it’s not going to give you any glaring sweat patches after an intense workout (something which we all dread!).

The weather wasn’t the best yesterday when I wore this, but the t-shirt kept me nice and warm when walking from my car into the gym. Likewise, it also kept me cool in the gym and didn’t lead to me overheating or feeling restricted in anyway whatsoever.

Is Gymshark cheap or expensive?

£28.00 for a t-shirt… it’s a lot more than what I usually pay, but having worn the t-shirt to the gym I can confirm that it’s well worth the investment!

The final verdict

I can’t afford to solely buy Gymshark clothing, I’m still going to be raiding the rails in H&M and Primark for bargain items, but the few pieces I do have from Gymshark so far are by far my favourite and are definitely the ones I’ll be parading the most in the gym. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but they’re comfortable and they use technology that stops me looking as though I’ve stepped out of the shower once I’ve done an intense workout. What more could you want?
