Get ready running fans, Adidas has dropped a new range of running trainers and we are here for it! Meet the ADIZERO BOSTON 12 and ADIZERO ADIOS 8 – the newest members of the award-winning ADIZERO family.

First of all, let’s talk history. The ADIZERO line has been pumping adrenaline into the veins of the running community since 1982 with the launch of the original BOSTON, and later in 2008 with the first ADIOS.

The Adios and Adizero history behind the launch

Fun fact: it was an ADIOS 1 that escorted running legend Haile Gebrselassie to break his own Marathon World Record back in 2008. Now, after many tweaks and tinkers, we’re welcoming the 12th version of the BOSTON, and it’s more exciting than ever!

To make these shoes a reality, Adidas did not just take a blind punt. The company went deep into the world of pro-athletics, conducting 19 rigorous testing sessions with its Kenyan athlete squad, including marathon masters Peres Jepchirchir, Abel Kipchumba, and Angela Tanui. It’s safe to say these shoes have been put through their paces.

The designs behind the new trainers

The BOSTON 12, specifically, was refined based on these insights to become the running partner you’ve always dreamed of. It’s here to make your fast training runs feel like a race day, with the added bonus of training shoe comfort.

But that’s not all! Welcome the ADIZERO ADIOS 8 into the arena – a racing all-rounder. This nifty model combines a lightweight design, low profile, and responsive midsole, giving runners a more direct and speedy workout experience.

“We are fortunate to work with some of the planet’s most successful elite athletes. Their invaluable feedback is a crucial part of the development process. The BOSTON 12, as a result, has evolved into a formidable ally for speedwork and tempo runs. Additionally, the ADIZERO ADIOS 8 is softer and lighter than ever before.”
