Those who have nabbed themselves a spot in the London Marathon can win a place for a friend too thanks to Virgin Money Giving’s ‘Miles More‘ campaign. In order to automatically qualify, those with a spot already must raise £100 by the 30th November. How hard is that, really?!

Next week’s Simplyhealth Canine Run has officially SOLD OUT. That means that more than 100 dog owners and their loyal companions are gearing up to run the 2.5k and it’s definitely going to be one to watch. Not only is a great event to highlight pet health, but also to showcase how our pets can help us improve our own health!
The latest fitness launches
We recently did a piece about Barry’s x Sky Garden one-off HIIT class in London, 155m up, and now we’re pleased to announce a new Barry’s Bootcamp right here in the UK! Barry’s is set to open up it’s first fitness studio outside of London, opening their doors in Manchester! The opening date also coincides with the brand’s 20th anniversary since opening the first studio in West Hollywood!
Sponsorships in the fitness world
The Royal Parks Half Marathon yesterday announced that they’ve teamed up with TENZING as their Energy Partner. The plant-based energising drink will keep runners hydrated through the half marathon next year, as well as spreading the message that there are alternatives to sugar-laden synthetic drinks. The 2019 public ballot for the half marathon will officially open 29/01/2019.
Fitness events to attend
Early bid entries are now OPEN for the 2019 Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running. The festival consists of the marathon, Baxters River Ness 10k, 10km Corporate Challenge, River Ness 5k and Wee Nessie events. This year’s event saw more than 8,000 taking part, with entrants from as far afield as USA and Australia.
If you’re looking for a run with a difference, the OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO have announced more early bird fees. Entrants can currently get up to 20% off their entry price before the end of November. Taking place 23rd and 24th March 2019, the weather in Cyprus should be cool enough for a fun race.
